Liberty University wins tough contest against Grand Valley State University, 3-2LaHaye Ice Center Fri, Jan 09, 2015 The Liberty University Flames and the Grand Valley State University Lakers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Liberty University made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Carrie Jickling's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. The Flames were paced by Jickling, who registered one goal. Jickling scored 11:30 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Liberty University. Madison Fischer assisted on the tally. Liberty University was held below its usual level of production. The Flames average 5.3 goals per game. Grand Valley State University was unable to stop Liberty University from sending pucks towards the net, and the Flames eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.
