Liberty University overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Flames fell behind 5-3 after a power play goal by Penn State University's Cassandra Dunne at 9:06 in the second period. Liberty University tied things up at 5-5 on a goal by Brittany Hymers at 19:08 in the third period.

The Flames were boosted by Samantha Rupp, who turned in a shutout with 25 saves.
