Kendall Clary scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Michigan State University Spartans held off the challenges of the Ohio State University Buckeyes in a tough 2-0 win.

A goal 7:56 into the first period by Clary proved to be the game winner, and powered Michigan State University to the victory. Brittany Nuzzolo assisted on the tally.

The Spartans were sparked by Clary, who racked up one goal.

Michigan State University forced Ohio State University goalie Emily Ciborek to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots.

Michigan State University also got a goal from Sydney Glanz as well. More assists for Michigan State University came via Madison VanAntwerp, who had one.

The Buckeyes managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Ohio State University ended up below its season average of 5.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Spartans' Julia King stopped 21 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Michigan State University incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Ciborek recorded 47 saves for the Buckeyes. Ohio State University registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
