Darian Adams gave the Davenport University Panthers the lead in the first period, and the Ohio State University Buckeyes was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-0.

Davenport University took over the lead for good with a goal by Adams at 11:03 in the first period. Chantal Caraher assisted on the tally.

Caitlin Nosanov frustrated Ohio State University's offense all game, and stopped 25 shots en route to a shutout. Nosanov managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.2 prior to the game.

The Panthers were sparked by Adams, who finished with one goal.

Davenport University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Ohio State University power plays. The Buckeyes were unable to stop the Panthers from sending pucks towards the net, and Davenport University eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

Laken Kunz also scored for Davenport University. More assists for Davenport University came via Cynthia Davis and Tara Boliard, who each chipped in one.

Ohio State University managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Buckeyes wound up below its season average of 6.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Panthers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Ohio State University's Emily Ciborek stopped 46 shots out of the 47 that he faced.
