Davenport University rips Northern Michigan University, 8-1

The Davenport University Panthers were firing on all cylinders against Northern Michigan University, and when the final buzzer sounded Panthers emerged with an 8-1 win.

Davenport University got the win with help from a great game by Laken Kunz, who had two goals and one assist. Kunz scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 16:18 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Davenport University. A hooking penalty on Alexis Ade had put the Panthers on the power play. Caitlin Harrison provided the assist. Kunz's next tally on the power play made the score 7-1 Davenport University with 14:04 left in the third period. A hooking call on Caitlin Dunne put Davenport University on the penalty kill. Harrison picked up the assist.

The Panthers forced Northern Michigan University goalie Jenna Bales to work between the pipes, taking 59 shots. Davenport University bested its season scoring average. The Panthers have scored at the pace of 2.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

Davenport University additionally got points from Harrison, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Chantal Caraher, who also racked up one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, and Darian Adams, who also had one goal and one assist. Davenport University also got a goal from Catie OConnor as well. In addition, Davenport University received assists from Patsy Howe, Megan Martin, and Halle Hayes, who contributed one each.
