The Strathroy Rockets' Nick Boyer scored 1:30 into overtime to beat the St. Thomas Stars, 3-2 (OT).

Strathroy overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Rockets trailed 2-0 after a power play goal by St. Thomas' Dane Johnstone at 6:39 in the second period. Strathroy tied things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Ocean Check at 56 seconds in the third period.

Check had a great game for the Rockets, netting two goals.

Strathroy kept the Stars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nikolas Dampier made 28 saves on 31 shots. The Rockets took advantage of St. Thomas' penalties, tallying three goals off of five power play opportunities.

Other players who recorded assists for Strathroy were Matt Laberge, who had two and Brett Dalton, Kurtis Sander, Stuart King, and Dan Chapman, who each chipped in one.

The Stars forced Strathroy goalie Mat Ouellet to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

St. Thomas also got a goal from Spencer Hutchinson as well. In addition, St. Thomas received assists from Brett Van Dusen, Adam Truax, and Matt Simsons, who contributed one each.

Mat Ouellet made 36 saves for the Rockets on 38 shots. Strathroy incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. St. Thomas incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
