London outlasts LaSalle, 6-4

The game between the London Nationals and the LaSalle Vipers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end London emerged with a 6-4 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Tanner Ferreira at 9:05 of the third period.

The Nationals was paced on offense by Justin Murray and Kyle L Robinson, who combined for six points. Murray had two goals and one assist and Robinson also notched one goal and two assists.

London forced LaSalle goalie Eli Billing to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. The Nationals' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, London averages 3.4 goals per contest. The Nationals were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 26 penalty minutes.

London also got points from Ferreira, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Robinson, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Austin Kemp, who also registered one goal and one assist. Rai Di Loreto also scored for London. In addition, London received assists from Kevin Madden, who had two and Mitchell Kreis, Matt Bean, Michael Woolley, Trevor Dulong, and Drew Worrad, who each chipped in one.

The Vipers' offense rang up 50 shots on London's net. LaSalle could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Vipers were helped by Daniel Beaudoin, who racked up two goals. Beaudoin scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 3:20 into the second period to make the score 2-2. LaSalle had gotten the advantage when the Nationals' Robinson was sent off for holding. Chris Pignanelli picked up the assist. Beaudoin's next tally on the power play made the score 4-3 LaSalle with 19:30 left in the third period. Brendan Harrogate assisted on the tally. LaSalle additionally got points from Pignanelli, who also had one goal and one assist and Harrogate, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for LaSalle came via Nathan Savage, who had two and Nicolas Crescenzi and Brett Primeau, who contributed one each.

Justin Tugwell recorded 46 saves for London. The Nationals registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. The Vipers' Billing stopped 30 shots out of the 36 that he faced. LaSalle registered three goals on seven power play opportunities.
