Dennis' big game bests Lambton Shores in 6-2 Chatham win

Jared Dennis had two goals and one assist to lead the Chatham Maroons to a 6-2 victory over the Lambton Shores Predators.

Dennis scored at 9:34 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 6:22 into the second to make the score 3-1 Chatham.

Chatham's penalty kill excelled, as the Maroons gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Chatham forced Predators' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 35 shots and forcing 29 saves. Andrew Harriman-Duke made 17 stops and Anthony Hurtubise made 12. The Maroons stifled Lambton Shores' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Chatham could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Chatham also got points from Brayden Hopkins, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Steven Beenackers, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Chatham included Trevor Richardson and Brennan Feasey, who scored one goal each. In addition, Chatham received assists from Connor McKinnon, Connor Annett, Nate Pietens, Gus Ford, Connor Doran, and Ian Faubert, who contributed one each.

The Predators were helped by Brenden Trottier, who racked up one goal. Trottier scored 6:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lambton Shores. Austin Fetterly assisted on the tally. Drew Marlatt also scored for Lambton Shores. Other players who recorded assists for Lambton Shores were Franco Sproviero, Ryan Fraser, and Sean Ross, who each chipped in one.

Jake Patterson made 27 saves for the Maroons on 29 shots. Chatham registered one goal on two power play opportunities. For the Maroons, Luc Knight was ejected from the game. Lambton Shores incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
