Listowel blows out Brantford, 4-1

The Listowel Cyclones had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Brantford 99ers.

Listowel was led by Tanner Mighton, who grabbed one goal. Mighton scored on the power play 19:43 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Listowel. The Cyclones had gained a power play chance when Ryon Pereira was whistled for checking from behind. Derek Elliot assisted on the tally.

Listowel's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Brantford power plays.

Listowel also got points from Elliot, who also registered one goal and two assists and Jamie Huber, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Garrett James also scored for Listowel. In addition, Listowel received assists from Corey Flemington, Tim Nauta, Jordan Caskenette, Chayse Herrfort, and Tyler Fassl, who each chipped in one.

Brantford was led by Zander Pryor, who scored the team's only goal. Pryor scored 3:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brantford. Brett Parsons picked up the assist.

Tyler Fassl made 22 saves for the Cyclones on 23 shots. Listowel incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The 99ers' Jack Moylan stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Brantford incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. For the 99ers, Pereira was ejected from the game.
