London's comeback falls short, St. Thomas wins 4-3

The London Nationals almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the St. Thomas Stars managed to pull out a 4-3 win in the end.

St. Thomas led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Stars' Jordan Babb scored at 15:10 in the first period to put St. Thomas up 3-0.

In the losing effort, London was paced by Tanner Lafrance, who grabbed two goals. Lafrance scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 8:27 into the second period to make the score 3-2 St. Thomas. The Nationals had taken the advantage when the Stars' Carter McCormick got sent off for cross checking. Justin Murray picked up the assist. Lafrance's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 6:52 left in the third period. Murray provided the assist.

In the losing effort, London was led by Lafrance, who registered two goals.

St. Thomas forced the Nationals goalie Justin Tugwell to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

The Stars were helped by Andrew Chambers, who finished with one goal. Chambers scored 18:27 into the third period to make the score 4-3 St. Thomas. Jesse Anderson picked up the assist. St. Thomas also got points from Dane Johnstone, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Carson Brookshaw also scored for St. Thomas. In addition, St. Thomas received assists from Ryan Valentini, who had two and Spencer Hutchinson, Matt McJannet, Adam Truax, and Reed Horvat, who contributed one each.

St. Thomas was unable to stop London from sending pucks towards the net, and the Nationals eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

London also got a goal from Drew Worrad as well. Other players who recorded assists for London were Tanner Ferreira, who had one.

Nikolas Dampier made 32 saves for the Stars on 35 shots. St. Thomas incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Tugwell rejected 34 shots on goal for London. The Nationals incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
