Waterloo downs Cambridge, 4-1

Kyle Betts racked up one point to lead the Waterloo Siskins to a 4-1 victory over the Cambridge Winter Hawks.

Waterloo additionally got points from Christian Mroczkowski, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Waterloo included Luke Gazzola and Connor Bodnar, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Waterloo were Anthony Guido, who had two, Eric Cimino, who had three, and Nick Hirst and Chase Campbell, who each chipped in one.

Cambridge stifled Waterloo's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Winter Hawks struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 24 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays.

Cambridge was led by Jake Moggy, who scored the team's only goal. Moggy scored on the power play 8:18 into the second period to make the score 1-1. A delay of game penalty on Cimino had put the Winter Hawks on the power play. Kalob Witzell assisted on the tally.

The Siskins' Evgeny Kiselev stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Waterloo incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Lucas Machalski recorded 23 saves for Cambridge. The Winter Hawks registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
