The Elmira Sugar Kings had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-3 win over the Brampton Bombers. Ethan Skinner had a great game for Elmira, netting two goals. Skinner's tallies came at 2:32 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Elmira and 12:06 into the first to make the score 3-1 Elmira. The Sugar Kings' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Elmira averages 4.4 goals per contest. Elmira also got points from Mitch Klie, who also had one goal and two assists, Zac Coulter, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Cash Seraphim, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Elmira also got a goal from Klayton Hoelscher as well. More assists for Elmira came via Brodie Whitehead, Adam Brubacher, Brendan Schneider, and Chad Herron, who contributed one each and Marselis Subban, Rob Kohli, and Kevin Gergely, who each chipped in two. Brampton put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Sugar Kings to score on any of their four power plays. The Bombers were helped by Jordan Crocker, who tallied one goal. Crocker scored 15:50 into the first period to make the score 4-2 Elmira. Nick Petropoulos picked up the assist. Brampton additionally got points from Lucas Goodman, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Brad Bollert, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Brampton received assists from Robert Orlando and Carmine Vietri, who contributed one each. Jonathan Reinhart made 16 saves for Elmira on 19 shots. The Sugar Kings incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Jacob Hutchings recorded 22 saves for Brampton. The Bombers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
