Sarnia downs Leamington, 7-4

Hunter Tyczynski had one point to lead the Sarnia Legionnaires to a 7-4 victory over the Leamington Flyers.

Sarnia was led by Tyczynski, who grabbed one goal. Tyczynski scored 2:45 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Sarnia. Jay Clarke provided the assist.

The Legionnaires forced Leamington goalie Tyler Wall to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Sarnia outdid its season average for goals scored. The Legionnaires average 4.6 goals per game.

Sarnia also got points from Ryan Vendramin, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, Clarke, who also registered one goal and one assist, Riley Babkirk, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Jordan Fogarty, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Sarnia included Brandon Layman and Cameron Clarke, who scored one goal each. In addition, Sarnia received assists from Jake O`Donnell, who had two and Nathan Mater, Bobby King, and Kyler Keating, who contributed one each.

The Flyers' offense rang up 34 shots on Sarnia's net.

Leamington was led by Kyle Quick, who grabbed two goals. Quick scored the first of his two goals at 17:17 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Sarnia. Tyler Duarte picked up the assist. Quick's next tally made the score 4-3 Sarnia with 19:29 left in the third period. Leamington additionally got points from Duarte, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kyle Perkowski also scored for Leamington. More assists for Leamington came via Blaine Bechard, Jacob McGhee, Cale Phibbs, Matthew Opblinger, and Thomas Virban, who each chipped in one.

Andrew Masters rejected 30 shots on goal for the Legionnaires. Sarnia incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Tyler Wall made 33 saves for the Flyers on 40 shots. Leamington incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
