The Niagara Falls Canucks tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Fort Erie Meteors would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2. Fort Erie made the score 3-0 on a goal by Richard DeMarco at 14 seconds in the second period, and Niagara Falls got as close as 3-2 when Trevor Simonick scored 16:38 into the third period. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 11:04 into the first period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The Meteors put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Canucks to score on any of their four power plays. Fort Erie was helped by Wade Kenny, who had one goal and one assist. Kenny scored 14:32 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Fort Erie. DeMarco provided the assist. Fort Erie also got points from DeMarco, who also registered one goal and one assist. Fort Erie also got a goal from Dalton Tartaglia as well. Other players who recorded assists for Fort Erie were Vincent Robbins, Romaeo D Intino, Josh Micallef, and Mackenzie Savard, who contributed one each. Niagara Falls' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Fort Erie power plays. Matthew Baldinelli also scored for Niagara Falls. More assists for Niagara Falls came via Frank Pucci, Austin Wright, and Mac Hollowell, who each chipped in one. The Meteors' Savard stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Fort Erie ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. The Meteors ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tristan Drescher was ejected from the game. Dylan Pietrangelo recorded 26 saves for the Canucks. Niagara Falls ended with 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors. Team's Taggart Ledyard, Pucci, and Nigel Slade were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
