Wright's hat trick boosts Niagara Falls over Pelham, 8-5

Austin Wright netted a hat trick to lead the Niagara Falls Canucks over the Pelham Panthers, 8-5.

Wright's first goal came 4:22 into the second period. He then added goals at 44 seconds into the third and at 16:19 into the third.

Niagara Falls kept Pelham's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tynan Lauziere made 40 saves on 48 shots. The Canucks surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Niagara Falls averages 3.6 goals per game. The Canucks' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Niagara Falls also got points from Nigel Slade, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Zack Lansfield, who also had one goal and two assists. Niagara Falls also got a goal from Trevor Simonick as well. More assists for Niagara Falls came via Matthew Mannella, who had one, Frank Pucci, who had three, and Sean Farquharson, Mac Hollowell, and Ryall Ledyard, who each chipped in two.

The Panthers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Pelham forced Niagara Falls goalie Joseph Murdaca to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The Panthers outdid their season average for goals scored. Pelham has scored at the pace of 2.4 goals per game during the current campaign.

The Panthers were led by Anthony Sorrentino, who finished with three goals and one assist. Pelham additionally got points from Thomas Young, who also registered one goal and two assists. Connor Schmalz also scored for Pelham. Other players who recorded assists for Pelham were Ciaran Morgan, Brady Cranwell, and Shawn Rooke, who contributed one each and Riley Hollowell and Riley O Connell, who each chipped in two.

Murdaca rejected 27 shots on goal for the Canucks. Niagara Falls incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Pelham incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
