Stratford rolls over Listowel, 9-1

The Stratford Cullitons had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 9-1 win over the Listowel Cyclones.

Stratford got the win thanks to a great game by Jake Pleon, who had one goal and two assists. Pleon scored 18:45 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Stratford. Zach Van Louwe assisted on the tally.

The Cullitons' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Listowel power plays. Stratford's offense rang up 38 shots on Listowel's net. The Cullitons outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Stratford averages 4.1 goals per contest. The Cullitons got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Stratford also got points from Joe Leahy, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Trevor Sauder, who also had one goal and one assist, and Van Louwe, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Deven Kropf also scored for Stratford. Other players who recorded assists for Stratford were Shane O Brien, who had three, Jared Nash, Tristan Hohl, and Nathan Templeman, who each chipped in one, and Mitch Brooks, Hayden Broomhead, and Justin Graham, who contributed two each.

The Cyclones stifled Stratford's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Nick Redman made 24 saves for the Cullitons on 25 shots. Stratford totaled 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 0-for-4 on the power play. For the Cullitons, Patrick McKelvie and Templeman were ejected from the contest. Ryan Hergott recorded 29 saves for Listowel. The Cyclones ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Team's Brad Yowart and Ben Shelley were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
