Brett Van Dusen registered one point to lead the St. Thomas Stars to a 2-1 victory over the Strathroy Rockets.

St. Thomas' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Strathroy power plays. The Stars forced Strathroy goalie Mat Ouellet to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

Ryan Valentini also scored for St. Thomas. More assists for St. Thomas came via Spencer Hutchinson, Matt McJannet, Dane Johnstone, and Jay Dekker, who each chipped in one.

The Rockets stifled St. Thomas' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Strathroy could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Rockets put an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game.

Strathroy was led by Nick Griffin, who scored the team's only goal. Griffin scored short handed 8:37 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Rockets played down a man on Kieran Milne's tripping. Andrew Martin provided the assist.

Brendan Polasek made 23 saves for the Stars on 24 shots. St. Thomas incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Ouellet rejected 42 shots on goal for Strathroy. The Rockets incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
