Chatham blows out London, 9-2Chatham Memorial Arena Sun, Jan 25, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Chatham Maroons were firing on all cylinders against the London Nationals, and when the final buzzer sounded Maroons emerged with a 9-2 win. Chatham got the win thanks to a great game by Brennan Feasey, who had two goals and one assist. Feasey scored the first of his two goals at 3:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chatham. Trevor Richardson picked up the assist. Feasey's next tally made the score 5-0 Chatham with 34 seconds left in the second period. The Maroons had gotten the advantage when London's Derek Di Iorio was sent off for cross checking. Gus Ford provided the assist. Chatham forced Nationals' netminders to work all game long, taking 59 shots and forcing 50 saves. Connor Hughes made 37 stops and Justin Tugwell made 13. The Maroons excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Chatham surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Maroons average 4.8 goals per game. Chatham additionally got points from Ford, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Luc Knight, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Alexander Morgan, who also racked up two goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Chatham also had goals scored by Jared Dennis, Connor Doran, and Steven Beenackers, who each put in one. More assists for Chatham came via Ian Faubert, who had two and Connor McKinnon, Carl Stapleton, Brayden Hopkins, and Michael Levesque, who each chipped in one. Bo Bessette made 26 saves for Chatham on 28 shots. The Maroons incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Nationals incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
