Kitchener outlasts Waterloo, 4-3

The game between the Kitchener Dutchmen and the Waterloo Siskins was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Kitchener emerged with a 4-3 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Connor Cole secured the win for the Dutchmen with a goal in the third period.

Cole was all over the ice for Kitchener, as he tallied two goals in the win.

The Dutchmen forced Waterloo goalie Evgeny Kiselev to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Kitchener also got points from Philip Moser, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kitchener also got a goal from Jeremy Kuehn as well. More assists for Kitchener came via Kyle Ellis, who had two and Harrison Domagala, Austin Gaboury, Keegan Calder, Jordan Delaurier, and Adam Kawalec, who each chipped in one.

The Siskins' offense rang up 34 shots on Kitchener's net.

Waterloo was helped by Matt Romund, who finished with one goal. Romund scored on the power play 7:01 into the third period to make the score 2-2. The Siskins had gained a power play chance when Ellis was whistled for roughing. Gary Mantz assisted on the tally. Waterloo also had goals scored by Michael Romund and Christian Mroczkowski, who each put in one. In addition, Waterloo received assists from Nick Hirst, Matt Doty, and Danny Hanlon, who contributed one each.

The Dutchmen's Jackson McIntosh stopped 31 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Kitchener incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Dutchmen ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nathan Grossi was ejected from the game. Kiselev rejected 32 shots on goal for Waterloo. The Siskins incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
