Caledonia rolls over Pelham, 14-1

The Caledonia Corvairs had an eight-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 14-1 win over the Pelham Panthers.

Caledonia's penalty kill excelled, as the Corvairs gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Caledonia forced Pelham's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 60 shots and forcing 46 saves. Daniel Kocsis made 32 stops and Tynan Lauziere made 14. The Corvairs found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Caledonia averages 4.7 goals per game. The Corvairs were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 24 penalty minutes. Caledonia got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

The Corvairs were helped by Nathan Gomes, who racked up one goal and two assists. Gomes scored 11:35 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Caledonia. Jordan Peacock assisted on the tally. Caledonia additionally got points from Ryan Moran, who also had two goals and two assists, Peacock, who also tallied three goals and one assist, Connor Bramwell, who also registered three goals and one assist, Jayme Forslund, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Jake Brown, who also had one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, and Matthew Hore, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Erick Delaurentis also scored for Caledonia. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Ryan Blunt, who had three, Mitch Purdie, who had four, Justin Abraham, Connor Patton, Cosimo Fontana, Tyler Lepore, and Austin McEneny, who contributed one each, and Luke Sinclair and Kyle Tanev, who each chipped in two.

The Panthers were led by Riley Quesnelle, who scored the team's only goal. Quesnelle scored on the power play 18:31 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Caledonia. A head contact penalty on Forslund had put Pelham on the power play. Ciaran Morgan picked up the assist.

Marc Sinclair rejected 17 shots on goal for Caledonia. The Corvairs registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. The Panthers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
