Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Waterloo Siskins defeated the Stratford Cullitons in a shootout 5-4 (2-0 SO). The two teams needed four turns to complete the shootout. Waterloo's other shootout goal was scored by Chase Campbell.The Siskins saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Waterloo made the score 4-2 on a goal by Campbell at 18:12 in the third period. Stratford evened things up at 4-4 on a goal by Deven Kropf at 19:45 in the third period. Waterloo additionally got points from Gary Mantz, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Waterloo also had goals scored by Kyle Betts and Brennan Blaszczak, who scored one goal each. In addition, Waterloo received assists from Nick Hirst, Eric Cimino, Michael Romund, Christian Mroczkowski, Connor Bodnar, Anthony Guido, and Matt Romund, who each chipped in one. The Cullitons were helped by Brook Hiddink, who registered one goal. Hiddink scored 1:27 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Jake Pleon provided the assist. Others who scored for Stratford included Matthieu Bourbeau and Mitch Brooks, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Stratford were Justin Graham, who had two and Carter Allen, Tristan Hohl, and Nathan Templeman, who contributed one each. Evgeny Kiselev recorded 20 saves for the Siskins. Waterloo incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Stratford's Nicholas Caldwell stopped 20 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Cullitons incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
