The Welland Jr. Canadians had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-4 win over the Niagara Falls Canucks. Josh Allan had one goal and three assists to lead Welland. Allan scored on the power play 12:40 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Welland. A cross checking penalty on Austin Wright had put the Jr. Canadians on the power play. Kris Melna provided the assist. Welland forced Canucks' netminders to work without much rest, taking 49 shots and forcing 41 saves. Joseph Murdaca made 30 stops and Dylan Pietrangelo made 11. The Jr. Canadians' goal total was higher than their season average. Welland averages 3.8 goals per game.
