Huge game by Mroczkowski boosts Waterloo over Brantford, 5-2

Behind a great game by Christian Mroczkowski, who had two goals and two assists, the Waterloo Siskins defeated the Brantford 99ers, 5-2.

Mroczkowski's tallies came at 9:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Waterloo and on the power play 18:34 into the third to make the score 5-2 Waterloo.

Waterloo pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes.

The Siskins excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Waterloo kept Brantford's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nathan (APJ) Mackinnon made 38 saves on 43 shots.

Waterloo additionally got points from Gary Mantz, who also had one goal and one assist and Danny Hanlon, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Matt Romund also scored for Waterloo. More assists for Waterloo came via Michael Romund, who had one and Eric Cimino and Kyle Betts, who contributed two each.

The 99ers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 46 minutes in penalties during the game.

Brantford was helped by Dominick Horvath, who registered one goal. Horvath scored 10:04 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brett Parsons provided the assist. Brantford also got points from Ryon Pereira, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Brantford were Christian Polillo and Paris Briscoe, who each chipped in one.

The Siskins' Bailey DeGasperis stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Waterloo registered two goals on eight power play opportunities.
