Leamington holds on for 2-1 win against LaSalle

The LaSalle Vipers tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Leamington Flyers held on for a 2-1 victory.

Leamington made the score 2-0 on a goal by Kyle Quick at 13:18 in the third period, and LaSalle got as close as 2-1 when Brendan Harrogate scored 19:50 into the third period.

The Flyers' penalty kill excelled, as Leamington gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Flyers were led by Quick, who grabbed one goal.

Leamington could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Flyers average 4.1 goals per game.

Mitchell Amante also scored for Leamington. In addition, Leamington received assists from Blaine Bechard, Tyler Duarte, and Chris Scott, who contributed one each.

The Vipers were held below their usual level of production. LaSalle puts an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game.

Other players who recorded assists for LaSalle were Korey Morgan and Chris Pignanelli, who each chipped in one.

Trevor Wheaton rejected 20 shots on goal for Leamington. The Flyers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Paolo Battisti made 25 saves for the Vipers on 27 shots. LaSalle incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
