London beats Lambton Shores 4-2 after comeback scare

The London Nationals survived a determined comeback attempt by the Lambton Shores Predators on the way to a 4-2 win.

A goal by Austin Kemp put London up 4-1 in the third period, but Lambton Shores pulled to within two on Brett Corrigan's tally 18:51 into the third period.

The Nationals got the win with help from a great game by Kemp, who had two goals and one assist. Kemp scored the first of his two goals at 18:52 into the second period to make the score 3-0 London. Scott Goodman assisted on the tally. Kemp's next tally made the score 4-1 London with 6:06 left in the third period. Kevin Madden picked up the assist.

London's offense rang up 39 shots on the Predators' net.

London additionally got points from Madden, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kyle L Robinson also scored for London. In addition, London received assists from Justin Murray, who had two and Derek Todosichuk, Mitchell Kreis, and Drew Worrad, who contributed one each.

Lambton Shores forced the Nationals goalie Justin Tugwell to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. The Predators could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

Lambton Shores also got points from Franco Sproviero, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Colin Burns and Andrew Kim, who each chipped in one.

Tugwell recorded 31 saves for London. The Nationals incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Andrew Harriman-Duke made 35 saves for Lambton Shores on 39 shots. The Predators registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
