LaSalle completes comeback, beats Strathroy, 3-2

The LaSalle Vipers rallied from two goals down to secure a 3-2 win over the Strathroy Rockets.

LaSalle never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Vipers fell behind 2-0 after a goal by Strathroy's Nick Griffin at 2:48 in the second period. LaSalle knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Connor Rosaasen at 13:54 in the second period. The Vipers got the game winner at 19:36 in the second period on a goal by Rosaasen.

LaSalle was sparked by Dalton Langlois, who racked up one goal.

The Vipers stifled the Rockets' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Strathroy was unable to stop LaSalle from sending pucks towards the net, and the Vipers eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Korey Morgan also scored for LaSalle. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Nicolas Crescenzi, Chris Pignanelli, Brendan Harrogate, and Manny Silverio, who each chipped in one.

The Rockets put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow LaSalle to score on any of its three power plays. Strathroy could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Rockets put an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. Strathroy forced the Vipers goalie Eli Billing to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

The Rockets were helped by Stuart King, who had one goal. King scored 35 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Strathroy. Mark MacAulay provided the assist. Other players who recorded assists for Strathroy were Eddie Schulz, who had one.

Billing rejected 31 shots on goal for LaSalle. The Vipers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. For LaSalle, Daniel Beaudoin was ejected from the game. Strathroy's Mat Ouellet stopped 39 shots out of the 42 that he faced. The Rockets incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
