Beenackers' big game bests St. Marys in 11-0 Chatham win

Behind a great game by Steven Beenackers, who had two goals and one assist, the Chatham Maroons defeated the St. Marys Lincolns, 11-0.

Beenackers scored at 16 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chatham and again while 9:26 into the first to make the score 2-0 Chatham.

Jake Patterson frustrated St. Marys' offense all game, and stopped 33 shots en route to a shutout. Patterson managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.61 prior to the game.

Chatham's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three St. Marys power plays. The Maroons' offense rang up 60 shots on the Lincolns' net. Chatham found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Maroons average 4.7 goals per game.

Chatham additionally got points from Jared Dennis, who also tallied one goal and three assists, Nate Pietens, who also registered one goal and two assists, Luc Knight, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Alexander Morgan, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Ian Faubert, who also had one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. Chatham also had goals scored by Michael Levesque and Brennan Feasey, who scored two goals each. Other players who recorded assists for Chatham were Brayden Hopkins, who had three and Trevor Richardson, Steven Szekesy, Connor Doran, and Mark Fratarcangelli, who contributed one each.

St. Marys forced Chatham goalie Patterson to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

The Maroons totaled 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and had no power play opportunities. Team's Pietens and Hopkins were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Tyler Beattie rejected 49 shots on goal for the Lincolns. St. Marys ended with 12 minutes in penalty time with one minor and two majors. For the Lincolns, Jack Wieringa and Colin Nancekivell were ejected from the contest.
