LaSalle's Savage deadly on offense in 3-1 win against LondonVollmer Recreation Complex Sun, Jan 11, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The LaSalle Vipers relied on the scoring touch of Nathan Savage, who netted two goals, to beat the London Nationals, 3-1. Savage's tallies came at 7:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 LaSalle and 4:47 into the second to make the score 2-1 LaSalle.LaSalle was led by goalie Paolo Battisti, who finished with 40 saves while allowing one goal. Battisti certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.27 entering the contest. The Vipers' offense rang up 49 shots on London's net. LaSalle also got points from Brendan Harrogate, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for LaSalle were Chris Pignanelli, who had two and Mark Manchurek and Daniel Beaudoin, who each chipped in one. The Nationals' offense operated below their season average. London averages 3.3 goals per game. LaSalle was unable to stop the Nationals from sending pucks towards the net, and London eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. The Nationals were led by Austin Kemp, who scored the team's only goal. Kemp scored on the power play 10:13 into the first period to make the score 1-1. London had gained a power play chance when Nicolas Crescenzi was whistled for tripping. Kevin Madden assisted on the tally. The Vipers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Connor Hughes recorded 46 saves for the Nationals. London incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
