Mroczkowski leads Waterloo over Elmira, 8-4Waterloo Rec Complex Sun, Jan 11, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Waterloo Siskins' Christian Mroczkowski had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing four assists in his team's 8-4 win over the Elmira Sugar Kings. Mroczkowski scored on the power play at 19:47 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Waterloo and again while 15:34 into the second to make the score 5-1 Waterloo.Waterloo put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Elmira to score on any of its four power plays. The Siskins found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Waterloo averages 4.2 goals per game. Waterloo also got points from Evan Kearns, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Kyle Betts, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Danny Hanlon, who also registered one goal and three assists. Waterloo also had goals scored by Matt Doty and Brennan Blaszczak, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Waterloo were Matt Romund, who had one and Nick Hirst, Luke Gazzola, and Chase Campbell, who contributed two each. The Sugar Kings' penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to the Siskins' power play unit. Elmira was helped by Mitch Wright, who tallied one goal. Wright scored 4:11 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Waterloo. Kevin Gergely picked up the assist. Others who scored for Elmira included Rob Kohli, Eric Palazzolo, and Klayton Hoelscher, who scored one goal each. In addition, Elmira received assists from Mitch Montgomery, Alex Mutton, Mitch Klie, Mac Clutsam, and Cash Seraphim, who each chipped in one. Evgeny Kiselev made 25 saves for Waterloo on 29 shots. The Siskins incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jonathan Reinhart made nine saves before being replaced by Andrew Lefebvre, who took the loss and made 11 saves. The Sugar Kings incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
