Ancaster outlasts Fort Erie, 3-2

The game between the Ancaster Avalanche and the Fort Erie Meteors was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Ancaster emerged with a 3-2 win.

The Avalanche gained the winning advantage on a goal by Max Balinson 12:11 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Ancaster was led by Balinson, who racked up one goal.

The Avalanche's offense rang up 31 shots on Fort Erie's net.

Ancaster also got points from Chris Klack, who also had one goal and one assist. Ancaster also got a goal from Owen Burnell as well. In addition, Ancaster received assists from Luke Zupan, who had two and Lucas Pozzobon, Brett Farrelly, and Blake Luscombe, who contributed one each.

The Meteors were helped by Wade Kenny, who registered one goal. Kenny scored on the power play 10:09 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Fort Erie earned a power play opportunity when Ryan Knill was put in the box for high sticking. Anthony Passero assisted on the tally. Richard DeMarco also scored for Fort Erie. Other players who recorded assists for Fort Erie were Holden Garlent and Jared Marino, who each chipped in one.

Ancaster's Blake Richard stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Avalanche incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mackenzie Savard rejected 28 shots on goal for the Meteors. Fort Erie incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
