Strathroy rips Lambton Shores, 10-1

The Strathroy Rockets were firing on all cylinders against the Lambton Shores Predators, and when the final buzzer sounded Rockets emerged with a 10-1 win.

Lucas Latina was all over the ice for Strathroy, as he tallied two goals in the win. Latina scored on the power play at 15:35 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Strathroy and again while 19:12 into the third to make the score 10-1 Strathroy.

The Rockets pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 20 penalty minutes.

Strathroy forced Lambton Shores' goalies to work without much rest, racking up 34 shots and forcing 24 saves. Andrew Harriman-Duke made 16 stops and Anthony Hurtubise made eight. The Rockets stifled the Predators' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Strathroy's goal total was higher than its season average. The Rockets have scored at the pace of 4.1 goals per game during the current campaign.

Strathroy additionally got points from Joey Seney, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Stuart King, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Sam Vokes, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Dan Chapman, who also registered one goal and one assist. Strathroy also got a goal from Nick Boyer as well. Other players who recorded assists for Strathroy were Dalton Good, Andrew Martin, and Mat Ouellet, who each chipped in one and Matt Laberge, Brett Dalton, Eddie Schulz, and Mark MacAulay, who contributed two each.

Lambton Shores could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Predators average 3.1 goals per game. Lambton Shores was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes.

Ouellet recorded 18 saves for Strathroy. The Rockets registered three goals on six power play opportunities. The Predators registered zero goals on eight power play opportunities.
