Redman leads Stratford to shutout victory over BramptonAllman Arena Fri, Jan 09, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Stratford Cullitons used a sparkling performance by Nick Redman to take down the Brampton Bombers, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Stratford's 2-0 shutout victory. The Cullitons were sparked by Patrick McKelvie, who grabbed one goal. McKelvie scored 2:11 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Stratford. Austin Huizenga assisted on the tally. Stratford could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Cullitons put an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. Stratford's defense was surprisingly good. The Cullitons allow 2.6 goals per game. Stratford forced Brampton goalie Jake Lawr to work between the pipes, taking 59 shots. Mitch Brooks also scored for Stratford. In addition, Stratford received assists from Jake Pleon and Mitch Vandergunst, who contributed one each. The Bombers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Cullitons to score on any of their seven power plays. Brampton did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Bombers average 2.5 goals per game. Stratford's Redman stopped 25 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Cullitons incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Lawr rejected 57 shots on goal for Brampton. The Bombers incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
