Evgeny Kiselev stood on his head and made 35 saves to lead the Waterloo Siskins to a 2-1 victory over the Listowel Cyclones. Waterloo was paced by Michael Romund, who grabbed one goal. Romund scored 17:30 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Waterloo. The Siskins put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Listowel to score on any of its three power plays. Waterloo's offense operated below its season average. The Siskins average 4.2 goals per game. Waterloo kept the Cyclones' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Hergott made 39 saves on 41 shots. Waterloo also got a goal from Christian Mroczkowski as well. More assists for Waterloo came via Matt Romund and Danny Hanlon, who each chipped in one. Listowel's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Waterloo power plays. The Siskins were unable to stop the Cyclones from sending pucks towards the net, and Listowel eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. The Cyclones were led by Derek Elliot, who scored the team's only goal. Elliot scored 11:25 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Ben VanOotegham provided the assist. Waterloo incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Listowel incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
