Huge game by Muir boosts Guelph over Cambridge, 6-3

Behind a great game by Brooker Muir, who had one goal and two assists, the Guelph Hurricanes defeated the Cambridge Winter Hawks, 6-3.

Muir scored 4:56 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Guelph. Mackenzie Flewelling picked up the assist. Muir dished an assist on Patrick Kudla's goal that made the score 2-1 Cambridge at 3:10 into the second period. He added another helper on Dylan Sayle's goal that made the score 2-2 at 11:10 into the second period.

Guelph's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Hurricanes average 3.5 goals per contest.

Guelph additionally got points from Kudla, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Craig Martini, who also had one goal and one assist. Peyton Backus also scored for Guelph. More assists for Guelph came via Michael Courvoisier, who had two and Cameron Stokes and Chad Herron, who contributed one each.

Cambridge was led by Jordan Chard, who racked up one goal and two assists. Chard scored 13:25 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Cambridge. Zack Magwood assisted on the tally. Guelph's Jason DaSilva stopped 15 shots out of the 18 that he faced. The Hurricanes totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. For Guelph, Jordan Hatzinger was ejected from the game. Owen Savory rejected 21 shots on goal for the Winter Hawks. Cambridge totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. The Winter Hawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Drew Stirling was ejected from the game.
