Listowel downs Brantford, 3-1

Ethan Morrison grabbed one point to lead the Listowel Cyclones to a 3-1 victory over the Brantford 99ers.

Brantford was unable to stop Listowel from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cyclones eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Listowel additionally got points from Chayse Herrfort, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Listowel also got a goal from Derek Elliot as well. Other players who recorded assists for Listowel were Garrett James and Ben VanOotegham, who each chipped in one.

The 99ers' offense operated below their season average. Brantford averages 3.1 goals per game.

The 99ers were led by Scotty Penwarden, who scored the team's only goal. Penwarden scored on the power play 18:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brantford. Brantford earned a power play opportunity when VanOotegham was put in the box for hooking. Ryon Pereira picked up the assist.

Tyler Fassl made 20 saves for Listowel on 21 shots. The Cyclones totaled 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Team's Blake Pickering and Morrison were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Nathan (APJ) Mackinnon recorded 34 saves for the 99ers. Brantford totaled 24 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For the 99ers, Matthew Woods and Pereira were ejected from the contest.
