Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Waterloo Siskins defeated the Brampton Bombers in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO). The shootout featured six attempts between both teams.Waterloo overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Siskins trailed 2-1 after a goal by Brampton's Kevin Bray at 10:30 in the second period. Waterloo tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Brennan Blaszczak at 12:05 in the second period. The Bombers were unable to stop the Siskins from sending pucks towards the net, and Waterloo eventually piled up 52 shots on goal. Waterloo also got a goal from Michael Romund as well. In addition, Waterloo received assists from Matt Doty and Matt Romund, who each chipped in one. Brampton excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Bombers kept the Siskins' goalie busy throughout the game, and Evgeny Kiselev made 29 saves on 31 shots. Brampton was helped by Brad Bollert, who grabbed one goal. Bollert scored on the power play 9:37 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Bombers had gained a power play chance when Romund was whistled for tripping. Jordan Crocker provided the assist. More assists for Brampton came via Nick Petropoulos, Lucas Goodman, and Chris Hill, who contributed one each. Waterloo incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jake Lawr made 49 saves for Brampton on 51 shots. The Bombers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
