Lambton Shores downs Sarnia, 5-2The Shores Recreation Centre Sat, Dec 20, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Ethan Sarfati had one point to lead the Lambton Shores Predators to a 5-2 victory over the Sarnia Legionnaires. In a losing effort, Sarnia was sparked by Davis Boyer, who racked up two goals. Boyer scored the first of his two goals at 10:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Sarnia. Ryan Trottier assisted on the tally. Boyer's next tally made the score 2-1 Sarnia with 18:59 left in the second period. Trottier picked up the assist. Lambton Shores forced Legionnaires' goaltenders to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots and forcing 43 saves. Hunter Johnson made 29 stops and Cornel Felder made 14. Lambton Shores additionally got points from Drew Marlatt, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Andrew Kim, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Lambton Shores included Brett Corrigan and Colin Burns, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Lambton Shores were Ty Jackson, who had two and Nick Sproviero, Adam Wammes, Brenden Trottier, and Sean Ross, who contributed one each. The Legionnaires did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Sarnia puts an average of 4.7 pucks into the net per game. The Legionnaires' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Sarnia finished with 28 penalty minutes. In addition, Sarnia received assists from Cody Trowell, who had one. The Predators' Andrew Harriman-Duke stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Lambton Shores incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Legionnaires registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Sarnia ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Trottier was ejected from the game.
