St. Catharines squeaks by Caledonia, 3-2Haldimand Center Sat, Dec 20, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The St. Catharines Falcons and the Caledonia Corvairs were evenly matched throughout their contest, but St. Catharines made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2. No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Nicholas Dozzi at 14:23 of the third period. The Falcons were paced by Dozzi, who had one goal. Others who scored for St. Catharines included Manny Manns and Paolo De Sousa, who scored one goal each. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Tyler Morrison, Broderick Kelly, Jake Evans, Cam Blakely, Devon Rymarchuk, and Tyler Hildebrant, who contributed one each. Caledonia's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five St. Catharines power plays. The Corvairs could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Caledonia puts an average of 4.8 pucks into the net per game. St. Catharines was unable to stop the Corvairs from sending pucks towards the net, and Caledonia eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. The Corvairs were helped by Tyler Lepore, who racked up one goal. Lepore scored 6:00 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jordan Peacock assisted on the tally. Caledonia also got a goal from Connor Bramwell as well. Other players who recorded assists for Caledonia were Kyle Tanev, Mitch Purdie, and Matthew Hore, who each chipped in one. The Falcons' Ben Csiernik stopped 37 shots out of the 39 that he faced. St. Catharines incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Marc Sinclair made 23 saves for Caledonia on 26 shots. The Corvairs incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
