Elmira survives Guelph comeback, wins 4-3

The Elmira Sugar Kings came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Guelph Hurricanes, but did just enough to escape with a 4-3 victory.

Elmira led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Sugar Kings' Zac Coulter scored on the power play at 1:27 in the second period to put Elmira up 3-0.

Coulter had a great game for the Sugar Kings, netting two goals.

Elmira's offense rang up 37 shots on Guelph's net.

Elmira also got points from Adam Brubacher, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Eric Palazzolo also scored for Elmira. Other players who recorded assists for Elmira were Mitch Klie, who had one and Rob Kohli, Ethan Skinner, and Mitch Wright, who each chipped in two.

The Sugar Kings were unable to stop the Hurricanes from sending pucks towards the net, and Guelph eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

The Hurricanes were helped by Ryan Migliaccio, who racked up one goal. Migliaccio scored 10:09 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Elmira. Chad Herron assisted on the tally. Guelph also had goals scored by Mackenzie Flewelling and Cameron Stokes, who scored one goal each. In addition, Guelph received assists from Craig Martini, who had two and Michael Courvoisier, Peyton Backus, and Dylan Sayle, who contributed one each.

Jonathan Reinhart made 29 saves for Elmira on 32 shots. The Sugar Kings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jason DaSilva rejected 33 shots on goal for Guelph. The Hurricanes incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
