LaSalle rides Billing to victory over St. Thomas, 4-1

Eli Billing had a standout game with 25 saves, and the LaSalle Vipers beat the St. Thomas Stars 4-1.

LaSalle was led by Dalton Langlois, who registered one goal. Langlois scored on the power play 10:59 into the second period to make the score 2-0 LaSalle. The Vipers earned a power play opportunity when Brett Van Dusen was put in the box for charging. Brendan Harrogate assisted on the tally.

LaSalle's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five St. Thomas power plays. The Vipers kept St. Thomas' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nikolas Dampier made 43 saves on 47 shots. LaSalle got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Others who scored for LaSalle included Chris Pignanelli, Eric Kirby, and Tyler Russell, who scored one goal each. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Nikko Sablone, Nathan Savage, Nathan Veres, Manny Silverio, and Graham Pickard, who each chipped in one.

The Stars did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. St. Thomas averages 3.2 goals per game.

The Stars were led by Carson Moniz, who scored the team's only goal. Moniz scored 3:37 into the third period to make the score 2-1 LaSalle. Dane Johnstone picked up the assist.

The Vipers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. LaSalle ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Sablone was ejected from the game. St. Thomas incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Stars, Matt McJannet was ejected from the game.
