Ouellet stymies London, Strathroy wins 2-1

The Strathroy Rockets relied on the sparkling performance of Mat Ouellet in net to grab a 2-1 win against the London Nationals.

London's power play was ineffective against Strathroy's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Rockets were led by Brett Dalton, who had one goal. Dalton scored 16:53 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Strathroy. Stuart King picked up the assist.

Strathroy excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Rockets forced the Nationals goalie Connor Hughes to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Dan Chapman also scored for Strathroy. More assists for Strathroy came via Nick Boyer, who had two.

London was held below its usual level of production. The Nationals average 3.3 goals per game. London kept Strathroy's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ouellet made 35 saves on 36 shots.

The Nationals were led by Trevor Dulong, who scored the team's only goal. Dulong scored 5:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 London. Rai Di Loreto provided the assist.

The Rockets incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Connor Hughes made 35 saves for London on 37 shots. The Nationals incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
