Blake Richard stood on his head and made 32 saves to lead the Ancaster Avalanche to a 4-1 victory over the Thorold Blackhawks.

Ancaster pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

The Avalanche were led by Hayden Guitard, who grabbed one goal. Guitard scored 5:06 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Ancaster. Aaron St. Pierre provided the assist.

Ancaster's offense rang up 39 shots on Thorold's net. The Avalanche were held back by their power play unit, which tallied two goals on nine chances.

Ancaster also got points from Owen Burnell, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Ancaster also had goals scored by Michael Pollice and Cole Nagy, who scored one goal each. In addition, Ancaster received assists from Michael Faliero, who had two and Lucas Triemstra, Ryan Knill, and Zach Maciel, who each chipped in one.

Ancaster was unable to stop the Blackhawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Thorold eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Josh Astorino rejected 35 shots on goal for the Blackhawks. Thorold incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
