Stratford outlasts Listowel, 3-2Allman Arena Fri, Dec 12, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Stratford Cullitons and the Listowel Cyclones was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Stratford emerged with a 3-2 win. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Deven Kropf secured the win for the Cullitons with a goal in the third period. Stratford was paced by Kropf, who had one goal and one assist. Kropf scored on the power play 19:08 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Stratford. A hooking penalty on Corey Flemington had put the Cullitons on the power play. Brook Hiddink picked up the assist. Stratford stifled Listowel's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Cullitons forced the Cyclones goalie Tyler Fassl to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Stratford also had goals scored by Shane O Brien and Hayden Broomhead, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Stratford were Mitch Brooks, Trevor Sauder, and Nicholas Caldwell, who contributed one each. Listowel kept Stratford's goalie busy throughout the game, and Caldwell made 29 saves on 31 shots. The Cyclones were helped by Jordan Caskenette, who registered one goal. Caskenette scored 17:52 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Robert White provided the assist. Listowel also got a goal from Garrett James as well. More assists for Listowel came via Blake Nichol and Chayse Herrfort, who each chipped in one. The Cullitons incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Listowel's Fassl stopped 34 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Cyclones incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
