Richard leads Ancaster to shutout victory over Pelham

Blake Richard made 30 saves to complete the shutout and led the Ancaster Avalanche to a 3-0 win against the Pelham Panthers.

Ancaster was paced by Ryan Cox, who grabbed one goal. Cox scored on the power play 10:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ancaster. The Avalanche had taken the advantage when Pelham's Ciaran Morgan got sent off for cross checking. Brett Farrelly picked up the assist.

Ancaster's offense rang up 46 shots on the Panthers' net.

Ancaster also had goals scored by Hayden Guitard and Ryan Knill, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Ancaster were Lucas Triemstra, who had two and Michael Pollice, Michael Faliero, and Zach Maciel, who each chipped in one.

Pelham was held below its usual level of production. The Panthers put an average of 2.4 pucks into the net per game.

The Avalanche incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. For Ancaster, Ryan Sullivan and Cox were ejected from the contest. Tynan Lauziere recorded 43 saves for Pelham. The Panthers incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
