Kitchener rolls over Guelph, 4-1

The Guelph Hurricanes had trouble finding ways to stop the Kitchener Dutchmen, which beat Hurricanes, 4-1.

Jordan Delaurier had two goals to lead Kitchener to victory. Delaurier found the back of the net 43 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Kitchener and again while 3:14 into the third to make the score 3-0 Kitchener.

The Dutchmen's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Guelph power plays. Kitchener kept Guelph's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jason DaSilva made 32 saves on 36 shots.

Kitchener additionally got points from Adam Kawalec, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Harrison Domagala also scored for Kitchener. More assists for Kitchener came via Nick Trecroce, who had two and Mitchell Smith, Nic Hague, and Matt Scott, who contributed one each.

The Hurricanes put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Dutchmen to score on any of their six power plays. Guelph did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Hurricanes put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. Kitchener was unable to stop Guelph from sending pucks towards the net, and the Hurricanes eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Guelph could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Hurricanes were led by Michael Courvoisier, who scored the team's only goal. Courvoisier scored 8:26 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Kitchener. Alex Remedios assisted on the tally.

Jackson McIntosh recorded 30 saves for the Dutchmen. Kitchener incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
