Strathroy falls to Lambton Shores in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Lambton Shores Predators pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Strathroy Rockets on a clutch goal by Brenden Trottier.

Lambton Shores' offense rang up 43 shots on Strathroy's net.

Others who scored for Lambton Shores included Drew Marlatt, Colin Burns, and Sean Ross, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Lambton Shores were Ryan Fraser, who had two and Nick Delyzer, Brett Corrigan, Ethan Sarfati, Gino Mini, and Luke McEachnie, who each chipped in one.

The Rockets kept the Predators' goalie busy throughout the game, and Anthony Hurtubise made 37 saves on 40 shots.

Strathroy was led by Nick Boyer, who had one goal and two assists. Boyer scored on the power play 6:41 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Strathroy. The Rockets earned a power play opportunity when Corrigan was put in the box for high sticking. Stuart King picked up the assist. Strathroy additionally got points from King, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Nick Griffin also scored for Strathroy. More assists for Strathroy came via Joey Seney, who had one.

Lambton Shores incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Mat Ouellet rejected 39 shots on goal for Strathroy. The Rockets incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Strathroy ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Boyer was ejected from the game.
