Leamington outlasts London, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Leamington Flyers escaped with a 3-2 victory over the London Nationals.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and William Stadder secured the win for Leamington with a goal in the second period.

The Flyers were led by Zack Guilbeault, who tallied one goal. Guilbeault scored 16:07 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Leamington. Blaine Bechard picked up the assist.

Leamington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. London was unable to stop the Flyers from sending pucks towards the net, and Leamington eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Leamington also got points from Colin Moore, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Leamington received assists from Cale Phibbs, Thomas Virban, and Cody Schneider, who each chipped in one.

The Nationals stifled the Flyers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

London was helped by John Warren, who finished with one goal. Warren scored 16:35 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Leamington. Rai DiLoreto assisted on the tally. London also got a goal from Austin Kemp as well. Other players who recorded assists for London were Kevin Madden, who had one.

Leamington's Michael Barrett stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Flyers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Justin Tugwell made 33 saves for the Nationals on 36 shots. London incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
