Behind a great game by Matt Bean, who had one goal and two assists, the London Nationals defeated the Sarnia Legionnaires, 7-2. Bean got on the board by slotting home a goal 17:10 into the first period to make the score 2-0 London. Brent House picked up the assist. Bean dished an assist on Andrew Kim's goal that made the score 1-0 London at 9:08 into the first period. He added another helper on House's goal that made the score 7-0 London at 16:48 into the second period.London put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Sarnia to score on any of its four power plays. The Legionnaires were unable to stop the Nationals from sending pucks towards the net, and London eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. The Nationals outdid their season average for goals scored. London averages 3.3 goals per game. London also got points from House, who also had one goal and one assist, Colin Wilson, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Drew Worrad, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for London included Justin Murray and Kevin Madden, who scored one goal each. In addition, London received assists from Derek Todosichuk, Kyle L Robinson, Austin Kemp, Scott Goodman, and Mitchell Kreis, who contributed one each and Anthony Kotsovos and Tanner Ferreira, who each chipped in two. Sarnia excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Legionnaires could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Sarnia averages 4.8 goals per game. The Legionnaires forced the Nationals goalie Justin Tugwell to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. Sarnia was led by Cody Trowell, who had one goal and one assist. Trowell scored 26 seconds into the third period to make the score 7-1 London. Ryan Vendramin assisted on the tally. Sarnia also got a goal from Davis Boyer as well. Other players who recorded assists for Sarnia were Brad Campbell and Tyler Prong, who contributed one each. London's Tugwell stopped 40 shots out of the 42 that he faced.
