Caledonia earns hard-fought 1-0 win over ThoroldThorold Community Arena Wed, Dec 03, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Caledonia Corvairs and the Thorold Blackhawks proved to be an even match, as Caledonia took home the victory by scoring only once in a 1-0 win. The assists on the winning goal came courtesy of Austin McEneny and Riley Vanhorne.The Corvairs were sparked by Connor Bramwell, who racked up one goal. Bramwell scored on the power play 11:38 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Caledonia. Caledonia had gotten the advantage when Thorold's Kyle Langdon was sent off for bench / coach. McEneny provided the assist. The Corvairs stifled the Blackhawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Caledonia was held below its usual level of production. The Corvairs put an average of 4.9 pucks into the net per game. Caledonia's offense rang up 56 shots on Thorold's net. The Blackhawks did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Thorold averages 2.3 goals per game. Marc Sinclair rejected 20 shots on goal for the Corvairs. Caledonia incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Josh Astorino recorded 55 saves for the Blackhawks. Thorold totaled 33 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-5 on the power play. For the Blackhawks, Tyler Sehovic was ejected from the game.
