Huge game by Palazzolo boosts Elmira over Listowel, 8-4Dan Snyder Memorial Sun, Nov 30, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Eric Palazzolo had two goals and two assists to lead the Elmira Sugar Kings to an 8-4 victory over the Listowel Cyclones. Palazzolo found the back of the net 19:50 into the second period to make the score 5-2 Elmira and again while 11:51 into the third to make the score 6-4 Elmira.Elmira bested its season scoring average. The Sugar Kings have scored at the pace of 4.4 goals per game during the current campaign. Elmira additionally got points from Adam Brubacher, who also tallied one goal and three assists, Ethan Skinner, who also had two goals and two assists, and Mitch Wright, who also registered two goals and one assist. Elmira also got a goal from Alex Mutton as well. More assists for Elmira came via Rob Kohli, Jamie Huber, and Brendan Schneider, who contributed one each and Mitch Klie and Zac Coulter, who each chipped in two. Listowel managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Cyclones ended up below its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game. Listowel kept Elmira's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jonathan Reinhart made 35 saves on 39 shots. The Cyclones got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. Listowel was led by Keaton Willis, who racked up two goals. Willis scored the first of his two goals at 5:52 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Reid Simmons assisted on the tally. Willis' next tally made the score 5-4 Elmira with 15:02 left in the third period. The Cyclones had taken the advantage when the Sugar Kings' Steven Jakiela got sent off for charging. Robert White provided the assist. Listowel also had goals scored by Corey Flemington and Ben Shelley, who each put in one. In addition, Listowel received assists from Ray McFalls, Blake Nichol, and Jordan Caskenette, who contributed one each. Elmira totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Team's Mac Clutsam and Connor Hall were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Listowel's starting goalie, Tyler Fassl, made 19 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Ryan Hergott, who stopped two shots. The Cyclones registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
